Zoya Thrive Collection Spring 2018

Hey everyone!

Are you excited for spring?  I know I am.  Schools were just called out for snow, again, and the snow day excitement has worn off.  So, c'mon spring!

I have the Zoya Thrive Collection for Spring 2018 to show you today!  It's just what I needed to put me in a spring mood.

All of my swatches are shown in two easy coats.  I did not have any problems with formula or application.

I'm sure you can guess which one are my favorites: Haruko and Brandi!  I'm really liking that Zoya is adding shimmer top coats in their collections.  If you don't have Leisel or Leia in your topcoat collections, you really need them!

The Zoya Thrive Collection can be purchased through

Madam Glam Polygel Review

Hey everyone!

I have a pretty exciting product to show you today!  Polygel is a fairly new product that you've probably been seeing all over social media, and my favorite gel brand, Madam Glam, has their own line!

I was lucky to be asked to sample/swatch their line of polygels, and I hope I convey a comprehensive review for you.

Polygel is a combination of both liquid and powder acrylics and LED hard gels.  They are so light but still very strong.  The formula comes in a premixed tube, so all you have to do is place it on the nail and glide it on.  You don't have to work fast, just take your time to get the perfect application and cure!

I'll have my experience with the formula and application explained after my swatches.

This turned out so clear!  I was so surprised it ended up looking so glassy.  I did top this one with a no wipe topcoat, so I believe that helped preserve the glassy appearance.

This is a very light and sheer rosy shade.  This is my preferred sheer shade with my skin tone.  If I were doing a french tip or just a clean nail look without a color over top, I would chose this one.

Not as pink as Blush Peony, but still has that somewhat sheer  nude effect.

This is not as sheer as the others.  It's not pink, not nude, but a great combo of the two.  I used this one as my experimental full set and got so many complements!  If I didn't paint my nails so much, I would just use this and a top coat for daily wear.

A beautiful warm brown that will be a great nude shade for women of color!

I have been experimenting and wearing polygel since the first of February.  While this is my first experience with polygel, I do have somewhat of a background in acrylics and hard gel.

I had seen a few videos showing how incredibly easy and effortless it is applying polygel with dual nail forms.  I've also seen these called pop its. That's not 100% accurate in my experience.  You really have to develop your own technique when using the nail forms.  There's a learning curve in eyeballing the amount you need.  Too much product, and you have a squishy mess that gets around and under the nail that has to be cleaned up or filed to get it to your liking.  Too little product and you have to go back over the nail to apply more product creating extra work.  However, once you've practiced, figured out the perfect amount of product per nail, it is an amazing technique.

Regular nail forms are easy to use with this product.  Once you have the form placed, you can take your time to sculpt out your perfect nail.

I like to combine both techniques.  Dual forms work better on my thumb, middle, and ring finger.  Then I use nail forms for my pinky and forefinger.

As with any other nail product, you have to prep your nails in order to have the optimal staying power.   Here is a review linked to the Madam Glam website.

I wore a set of nails long enough to do a fill in, and yes, it was really easy.  I love how easy it is to manipulate the formula and file.  It does take practice to get comfortable with filling in if you are not used to doing acrylic/hard gel/polygel.

Filing polygel is really easy.  I filed off the bulk with my e file, and then went back in to do the rest with a hand file.  I did not have any damage to my natural nail!

Now that I have finished experimenting with polygel, I'm going to do an overlay to protect my natural nail to facilitate growth and prevent brackage.  Nail extensions are pretty, but it's hard to unbuckle car seats!  However, if you're a nail enthusiast that would like to wear a full set for a short time for social media pictures, use Madam Glam peel off base and pop them off when you're finished with your project!  That's what I intend to do for nail art.

Zoya Bridal Bliss Collection

Hey everyone!
Zoya is gearing up for wedding season with this awesome collection of nudes and pastels.
These were sent to me by Zoya, and I'm excited to show you my swatches.

First thing you should know, I do have on a nude pink polygel base, but I do not feel it changed the shades of these polishes.

Let's take a look at Zoya Bridal Bliss Collection.

All of my swatches are shown in two coats.  All the formulas were good and I did not experience any problems with formula or application.

This is one of my favorite orchid shades ever!  How can you not love this shade?!

Out of all the opaque nudes, this is definately my favorite because it is the most flattering on my skintone.

This is one of two nude sheers in this collection.  If I had to choose between the two, it would be this one because I like that it leans pinky nude.

This is the other sheer nude.  It's more of a nude and what I would choose for a "clean" nail look, or the base for a French tip.  Bela, to me, would be too pink for a true French tip look.

One coat over Loretta.  I've used this topper several times over different shades and this combination is my favorite.  If you have noticed the unicorn gel glitter around, this would be a similar effect but in polish form.  You're not going to get that smooth, chrome like finish, but the shimmer looks similar to me.

I added another coat of Loretta over Leia to make the effect more subtle.  What do you think?  I really, really love how this one turned out.  Going back in my head, thinking about what I would want on my nails if I got married today, this is what I would choose.  Ten years ago, I chose French tips!  My tastes have changed so much!

Something happened here.  I think the combination of my skin tone plus the lights I'm using made this one pull way too mustardy.  Take this swatch with a grain of salt.  Or maybe it is this mustardy?  I guess I should ask around because I know this one is really popular with some of my nail friends.

This one isn't a flat creme as it does have some shimmer to it.  Unfortunately, you can't see that with my pic.

My daughter pulled out my "nail jewels" so she could have pretty nails for Kindergarten, so I put some on a matte McKenna while I was at it.

I saved the best for last!  I absolutely loooooooove nude holos and this nude scattered holo is beautiful.

I think this is a great bridal collection.  There's undertones that will suit a lot of people.  There are toppers, holos, and shimmers to combine to make a unique nude look.  There's even great polishes to make a pretty French tip.

The Zoya Bridal Bliss Collection is long wearing, vegan friendly, and has a 10 free formula.

You can purchase these through

While I was typing this up, I received a delivery of the Zoya Thrive Collection.  I can't wait to show you!

Pixi Skin Treats and Lip Treats Review

Hey guys!  The month of January was a bit crazy for me and I am a bit behind in my posts.  The flu this year is awful and everyone in my home got it.  Hopefully, this is the last of illnesses for us for awhile.

I received something pretty exciting while I was sick.  This lovely box was sent to me by Pixi and it is so beautiful.

First up we have the Skin Treats.

The Rose Caviar Essence is for all skin types and is intended to hydrate, brighten, nourish and soften.  After cleansing and toning, press a coin size amount gently onto skin.  The capsules contain fresh rose and flower oils.

The Rose Flash Balm is a 3-In-1 Formula that is intended to moisturize, prime or to be used as a hydrating mask.  To prime, apply a thin layer. To use as a mask, apply a thicker layer.  This Balm is created with rose water and olive leaf extracts.

The rose scent is so amazing, light, and puts a smile on my face.  I have not used these for an extended period of time, but I will update you with my results after I have used this for a week or so.

Next is the Lip Treats.

These are a MatteLast liquid lip.  It has a full color payoff in a single stoke that is hydrating, long wearing and quick drying.

Swatches for you!

The liquid lips come with a petal applicator.

Really Rose is my favorite of the bunch and I have been using it quite a bit.  I do enjoy this formula, it does dry fast and doesn't dry out my lips, while still having a long lasting wear time.

My first impression is that I'm really impressed with this package.  I'm looking forward to seeing what type of results I will have with the Essence and Balm.  The Liquid Lips are a great formula and I fully intend to continue wearing my favorite, Really Rose.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you are doing well and I'll have more reviews soon!

Madam Glam Candy Fluff Swatch and Review

Hey everyone!!!  Happy New Year!!!

December is always a roller coaster ride where I don't do many nail related activities.  Birthdays, Christmas, Anniversaries.....  So many celebrations!  I ended up keeping my nails painted in Madam Glam Cute Alert with Accents of Popular Boo.  No pics, sorry!

First post of the year, and I start with my favorite gel brand!

I have two of the Candy Fluff Collection provided for review.

Fuzzy lilac in a pastel base.
This is very cute and delicate.  Definately, a must have for the pastel lovers.

Pastel pink in a nude/pastel base.
Just like JawBreaker, this one is also cute and delicate.

The Candy Fluff Collection is so cute.  I'll be honest, I didn't think I would like these because of the fuzz.  Anyone remember those Sally Hansen fuzzy sweater type nail polishes?  I hated those in the bottle, so I never bought them.  The Madam Glam Candy Fluff collection are more pastel toned and less dramatic than the Sally Hansens from a few years ago.

I love these so much, I'm definately wanting more, especially the pastel green one (Junior Mint).

I have loads of other Madam Glam swatches, just type in Madam Glam in my search bar!

Thanks for reading!

I hope 2018 is full of fun nail polish purchases for you and me!!!!!!

My favorite!   Fallon is a pearl, midtone violet magenta.   Shown in two coats.
