A Year in Color: Green Eye Shadow

For today's installment of A Year In Color, I've included my green eyeshadows and a bonus manicure using eye shadow!  Yep, I went there.

The green shades in my beauty products are fairly sparse.  I legit only have four eyeshadows, no eyeliners, no lipsticks, no green anything else.

There they are!  My only green eyeshadows!  These are all Colourpop Super Shock Shadows, which are my favorite eye shadows.

I did a look using all of the above plus Colourpop Desert as my transition shade.

I was really pleased with how this turned out.

I've been seeing people using eyeshadows and highlighters in nail art looks and decided to give it a go.  I started with a black gel base and then used Moonwalk for my look.

It's okay.  The black edges where the shadow didn't stick kind of makes me twitchy.

I was very careful when I did this technique.  I cured my black gel but did not wipe the inhibition layer off.  Then, being really cautious not to transfer the inhibition layer back into the shadow pot, I used gloved fingers to burnish the shadow on each nail.  Then, I top coated.  Make sure to wipe the top coat brush on a paper towel so you don't transfer shadow into your expensive gel top coat.  That would really suck.

What do you think about this technique?  Do you see this as becoming a hot trend?
