I really struggled with the decision to make this post.  I have written, deleted, written, deleted, and written again.  Finally, I came to the conclusion people need to hear about this whole #BurnCND fiasco from the blogger's standpoint.

On February 29, 2016 I received an email with an offer and instruction on how I can be considered for the Preen.Me and CND #ShellacMasterpiece campaign.

As you can see, my only requirement to be considered was to provide my name, address, and phone number.  They would go through the candidates and choose the select few.

I was chosen to participate and received my package on March 10, 2016.

I began working immediately on my planning, swatches, nail art looks.

March 15, 2016 I received an email asking me to pause my posting and they would get back to me soon.

I had no idea what was going on.  So, I decided to ask fellow bloggers and was directed to this video.  (It really pains me to link this fist pounding, hand slapping, vitriol but it plays an important part in this event).

TL;DW version.  Nails Over Coffee lit torches and handed out pitch forks to her riled up followers and directed their anger to CND and our Instagram nail accounts.

CND Co-founder responded by posting this statement to their public Facebook page.

I have posted evidence above that I NEVER misrepresented myself.  I was horribly, horribly embarrassed Jan Arnold told all of her followers that I was a liar.  People knew who I was, they found my Instagram through the direction of Nails Over Coffee, scrutinized my work and are now told by the Co-founder of the brand I tried to support, that I am a liar.

I cannot adequately express the emotions I went through and continue to go through over this massive embarrassment.  As of the time I hit publish on this post, that embarrassing accusation still sits on the public CND Facebook page.

I made the mistake of following the #burncnd tag and reading comments.  People called me "blogger hands," "hash tagger," and "liar."

I couldn't bring myself to go through all the conversations again to screen shot more comments.

There are several supportive nail professionals that took the bloggers side and offered words of support.  Thank you very much for understanding.

During all this, people were leaving comments on our Instagram.  We were having to keep a close eye to delete comments and block people.

And the embarrassment kept coming.

I had suffered from embarrassment, harassment, emotional anguish and now, after beginning my work on a campaign I was so excited to be apart of, I have to spend my time boxing up and arranging the return of used press samples.

A group of us from the campaign got together to discuss this in a private forum.  I was not the only one suffering from this huge embarrassment.  Here are different statements from different bloggers on how this impacted us.:

I for one will NEVER purchase anything CND.  I will never promote anything CND.  Any brand that blatantly lies about a group of people that were slated to promote them is not a brand I ever want to be associated with.  Furthermore, the statements made by some of the CND "professionals" is appalling.  They were ready to rip the company to shreds and burn their certificates.  They were congratulating each other in ruining an online marketing campaign that cost their beloved company a lot of money.  Nope, don't want to be associated with that.
The last thing that really bothered me was a statement made by Nails Over Coffee in her victory phone call with Jan video about her struggle with negative feedback on her Instagram pictures.  "These are  not blogger's nails, these are real people's nails."
I am a real person.  I am a wife, mother, nail polish lover, social media influencer, and blogger.  I am a real person.
It is in my personal opinion Preen.Me tried really hard to right this mistake.  They owned up to the mistake 100%.  They did not blame me.  I emailed them about how much stress I was under about the whole thing.  They sent me a bouquet of flowers with encouraging words.  Every exchange we have had during this has been filled with encouraging words.

It is in my personal opinion CND Co-founder Jan Arnold and Nails Over Coffee reacted with emotion and knee jerk reactions that inflicted extreme mental anguish on us bloggers.

Thank you for reading.
