Colourpop First Impression and Swatches

Hey everyone!  Lately, I've been obsessive over makeup.  I usually just stick with brands I can find at Ulta and drug store brands but decided to give Colourpop a try since I see them all over the internets.

I placed my first order during their Last Call sale, so some of these aren't available anymore.  Which is ashame, because now I wish I had ordered multiples of a few.
I was kind of overwhelmed with how many options Colourpop offers and how many "last call" items there were.  I didn't know if I should catch em all or play it safe.  The responsible person in me won and I played it safe.

Here are swatches of the one highlight I bought and five eyeshadows.
From top to bottom:

Flexitarian: Highlight.  White champagne in a pearlized finish.  Wowza.  This is ah-mazing.  It looks great on my fair skin.  I love this and I'm very glad this wasn't part of the last call sale.
Bites: Eye Shadow.  A true white in a matte finish.  This was part of the last call sale and no longer available.  I love the formula on this one and all the shadows.
Glow: Eye Shadow.  Creamy vanilla in a matte finish.  Love this one.  It has a great off white shade.  This was not part of the last call sale.
Cop a Feel: Eye Shadow.  Cool toned creamy beige.  This one was pretty close to glow but had a bit more of a pinky/beige to it.  This was part of the last call sale and is sold out.
Hanky Panky: Eye Shadow.  A soft cool toned taupe.  I'll be using this one a lot.  This was not part of the last call sale.
Shop: Eye Shadow.  Rusty coral in a matte finish.  Oh my gosh.  How great will this be for fall?  I also really love these type of shades with my blue eyes.  Love!  This was not part of the last call sale.

Overall, I love all the formulas and shades I picked.  I played it safe with my first order by selecting mostly neutral shades, but I'm really happy I did, I feel I'm building a great foundation to my Colourpop eyeshadow collection.

The lip shades I picked
From top to bottom:

Bestie: mid-tone pink nude in a crème finish.  I really love this one for an everyday look.  Like, if I'm running to the grocery or school pick up.
BFF: Light peachy nude lip pencil.  This is a great nude lip pencil for me.
Contempo: mid-tone dusty rose lip pencil.  I also love this shade.  The lip pencils glide on so well.  I'm pretty obsessed with these.
Clueless: dusty mauve in a matte finish.  I cannot begin to describe how much I love this.  I have worn it everyday since I received these in the mail.  At first, I was skeptical of whether I would like these mattes or not.  But, I absolutely do.  I'm so happy I went outside of my comfort zone to try a matte lip.

Overall, I'm very pleased with all of my lip selections.  The pencils glide on very well.  The gloss is such a great shade.  The matte lip is really great.  One tip I do have when using this matte, try making my DIY Hand Scrub and exfoliating your lips before applying the matte shade.

I'm so happy with my Colourpop purchase that I placed two more orders!  I cannot wait to receive them and I'm pretty sure this is my new obsession!

  4. I'm not a Colourpop fan, to be honest. I bought several matte lippies from them in a range of colours, and they all look the same drab brown colour and not the pinks, coral, and the 1 brown I had purchased.

  5. Clueless is definitely my kind of shade for a lip.
