Hey guys! Today I have Zoya Urban Grunge creams. These are described as sleek, color saturated, one coat creams that are reinterpreted Grunge with a modern twist.
I'm going to start with swatches and comparisons. At the end of this post I will get into a more depth explanation of my application of these one coat creams.
Zoya Noah
Described as a mid-range taupe evenly balanced between yellow and grey.
My swatch is shown with base coat, one coat, and top coat. This was the easiest of all the creams to apply. I slapped this on and it was pretty fantastic. However, this was my last swatch, so it might've been so easy because I was really used to these formulas by the time I got to my last swatch.

Zoya Mallory |
From left to right: Mallory, Sia, Ling, Dory.
Mallory and Sia looked very close. Here's the difference: I was able to use one coat with Mallory but had to do two with Sia. Mallory is kinda squishy looking, while Sia looks more dense (does that make since?). Sia just seems more bold and dramatic compared to Mallory.
Stamping test.
Zoya Tara
Described as a purple plum with a balanced tone between red and purple.
My swatch is shown with base coat, one coat, and top coat.

Zoya Courtney
Described as a deep red beet root shade.
My swatch is shown with base coat, one coat, and top coat.

Zoya Courtney |
With a matte top coat, just 'cause.
From left to right: Courtney, Claire, Pepper, Stacy.
Courtney and Claire look identical in the bottle. On the nail, Courtney is just a touch lighter and I applied it in one coat. Claire required two coats and is just a little darker.

Alright. Let me tell you about my application. I went into this DETERMINED to make these one coat. I prepped my nails each time. I applied my favorite sticky base coat (INM Clear Bond). Then, I loaded up the brush and applied it in way more than three swipes. Well, wait, I did three swipes and then worked it in at the top to erase my nail line. Like when I use a dense glitter polish. These didn't dry very fast, so I was really able to work this on the nail to achieve one coat.
I really had to concentrate to get it in one coat, too. I tried to swatch with my kids in the room. Nope. I needed full on concentration. Once I practiced my application, it became easier to get these in one coat. In my opinion, even though I had to adjust my application, these are great creams.
As you can see above, these stamped okay over white, not very well over the black. Also, I found you really need to scrape lightly to get these to stamp.
For funsies, I used a base of Noah and stamped with Wyatt and Troy (from the Urban Grunge Metallic collection, which I'll have next week) for this look. Troy was really easy to stamp with but I had to try a few times with Wyatt because I scraped too hard a few times.
Tell me what you think about this collection in the comments below!

ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThanks for the comparisons. I wondered if you could tell me how Wyatt (green cream) compares to OPI's Jade is the New Black.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the swatches! I just got the 3 for 15 promo email. After seeing your swatches I'm going with Mallory because, duh...Courtney because I've been looking for that deep red with a hint of brightness for the holidays, and August which I think will be just as awesome as Courtney with a matte top coat. Thanks Again!
ReplyDeleteI like these shades and that they are one coat.
ReplyDeleteYou should always read the instructions thoroughly before you use any type of eye cream.

How to decide on a great wrinkle cream? If the cream is available for a long time, it should be considered a good one. The name of the brand counts when people purchase wrinkle creams.varyforte cream reviews
